Jim Matzorkis Education Program

In memory of James Matzorkis, Executive Director of the Port of Richmond from 2001 to 2020. Jim’s commitment and dedication were instrumental to the success of the Port of Richmond. Jim’s leadership and dedicated stewardship led the Port of Richmond to be Northern California’s #1 port in liquid bulk and automobile tonnage. May his memory and legacy live on through the Jim Matzorkis Education and Training Programs.

Objective

The Jim Matzorkis Education Program is to connect with those organizations to provide them with an ecosystem to support each other with human resources from the academic communities, so these organizations set goals for the student, and in-return to hire the students for various projects as their internships training.

Sometimes, young people or adults need guidance to gain the practical experience they need to focus on their career development. In the Bay Area and around the world, all those nonprofits and companies like to share their experiences to help the future generations or general citizens, however, they all have limited resources and ILM is to leverage each other to form an Educational Ecosystem to learn communication and leadership skills at an early stage, and as they grow through the educational and career development processes, so there is the Inspiration Leadership Model (ILM) can provide the guidance and support they need to flourish their careers.

Our objective as the members of this Commission are the “Stewards as Anchors.”
