Born and raised in Saigon, Vietnam. When I was 12 years old my family fled Vietnam on a boat to seek a dream of a better life. Before arriving to the U.S. my family had to endure through 17 days on a boat and 12 months of six different refugee camps. Upon arrival to the states the number one priority was education. Living in San Francisco Tenderloin didn’t dismay me in pursuing my dream, I was focused and determined! In high school, my teacher encouraged me to consider an architectural career. After I completed my research on Frank Lloyd Wright, I became fascinated by his career and his accomplishments. He inspired me to pursue architecture. For over 30 years I enjoy architecture and leading energetic talented teams to deliver design excellence and client satisfaction.

As a leader at home, I am challenged with four children (two girls and two boys) my youngest daughter Atiya is a recent graduate from Lowell High, younger son Ayden is a Marine Reserve, older son Artus is a commercial 18-wheeler truck driver, and the oldest daughter Adrianne is an alum from UCSC.

As much as I enjoy architecture, work and family, I do have a personal life…I enjoy swimming, exercising, weight training, ballroom dancing, golfing, and social networking. Occasionally, I enjoy a friendly poker game and a shot of tequila. Overall, I am blessed with a great career, a beautiful family and amazing friends and colleagues.
