Leonard Berry, Managing Director & Principal of the investment banking firm of Backstrom McCarley Berry & Co., LLC has over 40 years of combined professional experience in the investment banking and brokerage industry. Mr. Berry has served as a project leader in various investment banking capacities for both civic and cultural projects. Mr. Berry’s activities include public financing initiatives, account development, structuring and marketing of municipal bond issues, securities and investment sales, Public/Private Partnership (P3) advisory engagements, and general Investment Banking initiatives.
The Bay Area Rapid Transit District, Port of Los Angeles and Port of San Diego have benefited from Mr. Berry’s financing expertise as financial advisor. Mr. Berry and his firm currently serves as a co-financial advisor to the San Francisco Airport, San Francisco Public Utility District, and the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority, among other public & governmental entities. In addition, he has provided P3 advisory services to the Port of Oakland terminal improvement project, and the State of New York related to a potential laboratory consolidation plan. Mr. Berry was also part of the finance team for the Civic Center complex for the City of Richmond, CA His underwriting experience also includes the State of California, City of Atlanta, St. Louis, Kansas City, Mo., San Francisco, Los Angeles and several other agencies nationwide.
Mr. Berry holds a Master of Communications, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Washington. Mr. Berry is a Municipal Securities Principal and General Securities Principal, with Series 7, 24, 52, 50, and 63 registrations.
